Cause of Evolution

🌿 The Cause Behind the Evolution of GIVS

The founding vision of GIVS (Guest Intern Volunteer Service) emerged from a simple yet powerful belief — to be a drop of hope in the vast ocean of Nepal’s healthcare system.

Nepal, a land blessed with breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, still faces significant challenges in the area of public health. In many rural and remote communities, people continue to struggle with poor sanitation, inadequate nutrition, and limited access to medical care. Healthcare facilities remain underdeveloped, and the cost of treatment is often beyond the reach of the poor and excluded.

Traditional beliefs, lack of awareness, and insufficient health education further contribute to the spread of preventable diseases. As a result, millions remain at risk of infection, and thousands lose their lives each year due to communicable diseases, malnutrition, and other health-related causes — especially among children and families in rural regions.

While Nepal has made notable progress in maternal and child health, the burden of child mortality and undernourishment remains high. True progress means not only ensuring survival, but also securing a healthy childhood and a hopeful future for every child.

With this conviction, GIVS Nepal was established — to create meaningful opportunities where international interns and volunteers can contribute to the betterment of Nepal’s healthcare and community development. Through collaboration, compassion, and hands-on service, we aim to bring lasting change to the lives of those most in need.

A portion of the income generated by GIVS is dedicated to supporting underprivileged children in Nepal — particularly those with birth disabilities or from families unable to afford medical treatment and proper nutrition.

Though transforming an entire healthcare system may seem impossible, we believe that every effort counts. At GIVS, we strive to be a ray of sunshine in the lives of children and communities who deserve a healthier, brighter future.
